Nandini Agarwal

Hey, I’m Nandini and am co-host of That's What She Said on RareFM. My priority as editor of UnCL would be to promote it, increase engagement and ensure more people read and contribute their work. Here’s some ways to get more people to engage with UnCL and make it more content-rich, diverse and inclusive:

  • Start the year with pieces from presenters about their shows
  • Collaborate with the Head of Music and create a list of commissions to help people ideate
  • Use social media effectively- regular posts and calls for submissions
  • Host events and/or writing workshops with other societies and professionals to gain traction
  • Work on a collaborative issue with other Arts/Culture publications at UCL

I’ve been editor of publications previously, including my own online literary magazine, which gives me the skillset this role potentially needs. I’m good at getting people to do things, and will ensure an increase in submissions and engagement. I’ve also been in social media roles for societies + organisations, which will make sure UnCL’s Instagram game is top-tier. I’m extremely fascinated by all that London has to offer musically, and am a singer and pianist, which helps put out interesting, diverse content.

I’m looking forward to building a community of writers and putting out a great end-of-year issue (hopefully followed by an even greater launch party!)

Alexia Mihaila

My name is Alexia Mihaila and I am an Arts & Sciences undergrad running for Editor of UnCL! As current Head of Music for Rare and Editor-In-Chief of Film & TV Society’s reviews blog, I believe I can transcend through my experience UnCL into more than a blog and a yearly magazine.

I plan to:

* Organise bi-monthly meetings to discuss possible ideas for the magazine, as well as, check up constantly on members' progress of the monthly online articles

* Form and train the UnCL team by organising workshops with other societies and people in the industry depending on the role they want to take in the team (e.g. for writers a workshop with Writers Society, for photographers a workshop with Photo Society, etc.)

* Expand the Rare FM video and audio interview catalogue

* Get UnCL press accreditation for national and international music festivals/conferences

* Work closely with the Head of Music to secure gig passes and interviews for writers and photographers

* Work with the Treasurer to fund the printing of this year's issue and selling it through merch bundles or separately

* Offer smooth communication regarding general queries or our working process

I am deeply passionate about UnCL and Rare, therefore I will do my best in making UnCL a high-quality, sought-after publication, given that I have previous qualifying experience! :)
