Pokémon Society: Arts Officer

I'm Ruohan, and I have been the President of PokeSoc for the past two years! I’ll be staying another year to do an MSc! PokeSoc will never get rid of me >:)

The reason I'm running for the new Arts Officer role is partially to ease the workload and responsibilities for the future President in terms of improving the society's branding. As the society grows bigger, more work must be done to maintain and improve branding that the other pre-existing roles are not obliged to fulfil. This role involves designing flyers, banners and merch (STICKERS!!) for various events and fundraisers. In addition, the Arts Officer should work with the Social Sec to produce drawings and art for event posters on social media. Throughout the past 2 years, I have been doing exactly these things on top of the responsibilities as a President!

Being President of a new soc gave me the opportunity to express my creative side and simultaneously lead and create a thriving community! I loved drawing the logos and mascots as well as designing the stickers and flyers that we handed out during Freshers' Fair. Focusing on this particular role next year means that I have more time to work on the quality of graphics and art which will be used for promoting our society.

If I can continue to be a part of the committee, I plan to produce even better designs and art! I will also make sure that more creative events (like hama beads, tote bag painting, etc) are organised! ALSO I WILL BAKE COOKIES
