Sama Rabab

I have been a member of Pi since September 2021 and I've had a great time time and so i've decided to run for the committee. The events put on by the Pi have always been amazing and I would like the chance of organising these events myself. I have previously worked as a freshers rep on the events team of the Arab and North African society and therefore have experience in putting on enjoyable events.

If elected, I aim to produce fun and insightful events to make all members feel included and to create an enjoyable atmosphere for all students. I would aim to collaborate on events with similar societies such as UCL Cheese grater and Film and TV society to extend the society and increase its outreach by catering to more people. I would also advocate for collaborating with other journalism societies from different universities, in order for students to get a wider understanding of journalism beyond Pi. I would aim to produce events that would range from journalism based to other fun social ideas. For example, journalism workshops, where different techniques were taught, book club/film discussion meeting which could allow for increased book/film reviews and also fun socials such as game nights, debate sessions etc around London where all members could interact and embrace the Pi Media community

Overall, I would love to be given the chance to produce these events, so that students can have as much of a good time as I did whilst attending Pi events.
