Nordic Society: Nordic Liaison Officer

Hey everyone! I'm Danilo and I would love to be the Nordic Liaison officer! I love Nordic culture and languages so much (I am currently learning 3 - Icelandic, Finnish and Swedish - and hope to learn another 4 by the time I leave UCL) and I would love to help promote them next year! One thing that I would love to do in the society is offer language classes in rarer Nordic languages - such as Greenlandic and Faroese - with the Endangered Languages Society (a society that I founded) in order to give UCL students the chance to learn these amazing languages and help keep them from extinction. I'd also love to have some Old Norse lessons too! I also will help host things such as clubnights, food tastings, fundraisers, speed-friendings (and maybe dating..?) and many more fun events for our members! I have been on the committee of 39 societies this year (though I will not be on as many next year) and thus I have the skills and dedication to be part of the Nordic committee. I also hope to create several collabs next year so that our members have the opportunity to make more friends - I have made a lot of connections this past year so this will be easy to do! I also hope to create a penpal system so that students can connect with other uni students abroad, and I will help the welfare officer in ensuring that all members are supported, comfortable and happy in the society. Being part of the committee would be a dream come true and I will not let you down!
