I'm running for Secretary as I want to help give back to the society that has given me so many wonderful memories these past few months as a 1st Year at UCL. Some facts about me: my current favourite musical is "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella", my favourite singer is Josh Groban and I like reading sci-fi novels. You might say that all those facts don't make Aaron qualified (or at least I imagine you saying that) and I would respond by saying that "you're probably right lmao". But what I am is a hard-working and passionate person, if voted into the committee as Secretary, will keep you all informed of the amazing events that the society puts on via newsletters, emails and Instagram posts. I will also make sure to respond to any inquiries you might have (big or small) and help assist the President and the committee as a whole in any way I can. UCL MTSoc is filled with some amazingly talented and wonderful people and I want to help to contribute towards keeping it as welcoming and extremely fun for all of the current members and the next generation of MT-loving 1st years to come. Thank you for your time and getting through my slightly long and convoluted statement and I hope that you'll consider me for MT Secretary.

Briony Lettington

Hi, I'm Briony and I'm running for Secretary of UCL's Musical Theatre Society.

Musical Theatre Society has presented me with chances to perform, to take part in socials in iconic locations and find a whole new group of friends. I would love to be involved in continuing to bring these opportunities to UCL students.

The role of the Secretary is vital to the effective running of the society. I feel like my sound organisational and time management skills make me equipped to deal with the administrative aspect of this role. Equally, a number of years working in the service industry has really shaped me into an effective team member, a quality that is vital in any committee role. I think the responsibility of maintaining communication between the committee, society members and the wider UCL community is especially important to delivering a successful society experience, with producing a weekly newsletter and the maintenance of the society's social media's vital to keeping members involved in the society as well as encouraging participation and increasing accessibility to all area's of the UCL community.

I find the prospect of being Musical Theatre Society's Secretary really exciting and promise to use my role to create a smoothly running society that continues to provide an experience that hones talent, creates friends and is also just really fun.
