Aleksandra Czyzak

Hi everyone!

My name is Ola and I am finishing my first year in Medical Sciences. I am running for Corporate Relations Officer to both establish and continue ongoing corporate contacts for fundraising for UCL MedTech Society.

Having been involved in several tech conferences such as Poland 2.0 in my last year I got to know strategies on successful fundraising for medtech communities. I have been also involved in developing polish-american start-up when I got to know how to arrange business meetings and pitch for sponsors.  I worked on AI start-up in recognising burns so I know about presenting ideas to medical technology organisations. My experience involves working and networking with three main consulting companies in London which might be a way to enlarge medtech corporate contacts in London.

At UCL, I have attended various MedTech events (including coding workshops series) which has developed my understanding of the society. I really enjoyed it and hope that by being a Corporate Relations Officer I could give back to the society. Being elected would give me this opportunity.

I look forward to getting to know people from MedTech and bringing amazing year for UCL MedTech Society!

Adrian Lau Yiu Chun

I am Adrian Lau, a Year 1 Biomed student from HK running for the Corporate Relations Officer of MedTech Society. With 3+ years experience of external communication in societies, I have developed the necessary skills and qualities and a well-rounded understanding of the role.

The enormous pool of talents the society is able to gather is undeniably attractive to sponsors. I believe my role includes demonstrating an anticipating vision to potential sponsors as well as securing a long-lasting relationship with them by updating how our event plans could align their market plans.

I am an opportunity-seeker. As the External Vice-president of my high school’s Biology Society, I initiated a series of hands-on lab visits for Year 9 and 10. After reaching out to various research labs, we achieved a ground-breaking collaboration with Dr. Brain C.W. Kot and his Aquatic Animal Virtopsy Lab. Even though lab visits were postponed due to COVID, we maintained a close connection by holding virtual tours and forums.

I have also been constantly improving myself as a public speaker for 6+ years, albeit receiving multiple Hong Kong-wide awards. I often represented my high school in public exhibitions and articulated my words to serve different types of audience.

I believe that my words, ambition and confidence would leave a strong and trustworthy impression on sponsors and make me a perfect candidate for Corporate Relations Officer.
