Lucy A Wolpert

My name is Lucy and I’m a first year history student from Canada! Medieval history is one of my favourite subjects, and I love sharing my interest for it with others. I am running for Events Officer for the Medieval Society because I want to plan fantastic events to have fun while spreading the medieval spirit at UCL!

Through my involvement with my high school students’ council, and local and provincial level Girl Guides, I have gained significant event planning experience. These councils gave me the opportunity to plan several successful events, including crepe breakfasts, and weekend and day camps. In fall 2021, I was elected as the Medieval Society’s Welfare Officer, so I also have previous experience with the Medieval Society’s committee. In addition to teaching me about events, my work on these various committees has given me valuable teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills. If elected, I will continue to use these skills to plan entertaining and exciting events, but also to make sure the voices of our members continue to be heard by our committee.

I firmly believe that my previous experiences, especially on the Medieval Society Committee, as well as my passion for all things medieval, make me an excellent candidate for the position of Medieval Society Events Officer. I can’t wait to get planning and go medieval with all of you!
