Surgery is an area of medicine that fascinates me, it is such a broad discipline with endless opportunities. During work experience I was in paediatric surgery at Kings and thoroughly enjoyed it. My SSC was Transplantation Medicine, it allowed for links to be made from surgery into other areas of medicine such as immunology. This helped cement my interest in surgery, it is a very broad area with a diverse range of disciplines, each has huge depth that can be expanded on such as with my SSC.

This year I was an event’s organiser for the Emergency Medicine division. It helped broaden my knowledge massively, giving me insight into future life on an A&E rotation. I believe this is massively beneficial for all students as it gives them inspiration and insight into the future so that they don't lose sight of what is ahead. I would love the privilege to provide this to the next generation of UCL surgeons. I am General Secretary for UCL Hindu Society which is a massive but very enjoyable task. I was responsible for organising and running Rangeela which was our largest event this year and one of the largest university cultural shows. I helped plan other events working closely with the president and treasurer. This demonstrates I have the organisational and time management skills to fulfil this role. I enjoy pushing myself and taking on responsibilities. I have the motivation to complete this role to high standards.
