Amaani Ahmad

Hi everyone,

I’m Amaani and I would love to be Preclinical Education Chair next year.

During my time at med school, I have really appreciated the fantastic tutorials that MedSoc has put on, particularly PACS tutorials, and would love to play a role in continuing to improve the resources available and finding new ways to increase awareness and engagement amongst students.

As part of SurgSoc’s Education Committee, I set up a tutorial series, revising and teaching content to Year 1 students. This role required knowledge on how to successfully promote teaching events to maximise sign ups and effective communication with other members of the society to raise awareness of events, for example using advertising on social media platforms. I feel these skills I have acquired are highly relevant to this role and will be incredibly useful when setting up MedSoc tutorials in a similar way.

Having held leadership positions in the past, I feel confident I would be able to motivate and inspire others, stay organised and efficient when completing a task individually but also be able to work successfully in a team. I hope to help to raise awareness of the fantastic teaching opportunities that MedSoc provides and grow the number of students engaging with this amazing society.

I hope I have your vote!
