Hi, my name is Woojin (Jina) Nam and I’m a current second year History, Politics and Economics student running for Law for All’s Commercial Awareness Officer!
Knowing how crucial a commercial understanding is to a successful legal career, I’m excited by the possibility to help everyone from a wide range of experience levels understand and develop commercial awareness and make the commercial world as accessible and inclusive as possible. As one of the current CA officers, I hope to build on my experience to provide an even better experience for Lfa members!
-Events-
By working with the events officers at Lfa, I hope to introduce a number of events such as commercial panel talks, skills workshops, and new flagship events such as an internal commercial awareness competition.
-Content-
In addition, I believe my experiences in journalism and marketing equip me to further develop Lfa’s commercial awareness newsletter and podcast. As a reporter for LittleLaw, I’m able to research and write accessible, high quality articles that will help members stay up to date on relevant stories. I hope to implement discussions on legal and business jargon that may come up during assessment centres. With previous experience being on a radio show and with extensive experience in outreach, I’m eager to further develop the podcast with innovative content and exciting speakers!
Hi! I’m Vanessa, a penultimate year Arts & Sciences student and your current commercial awareness officer. I look forward to continuing in my current role and building upon my experience to produce even better content!
I hope that you’ve found the newsletter interesting and digestible, and I aim to expand the range of topics covered, as well as curating several ‘further reading’ recommendations at the end of each newsletter. So if you’re curious to know more after reading the newsletter, you can easily explore further into the topics!
I will continue producing the podcast, with 2 types of content in mind: firstly, bite-sized insights into a practice area, and secondly, chats with special guests/alumni in various areas of law. This will allow the podcast to be informative, accessible yet dynamic!
Lastly, as commercial awareness is something all aspiring commercial lawyers need to grasp (daunting as it is!), I hope to host discussions or activities in-person. Anyone can join to learn more about the chosen theme, and this will not only be a fun, laid-back social event, but it is great practice for interviews too.
Thank you for reading and I hope you’ll vote for me!
