Dan Bowskill

Hi everyone! I’m Dan, a 4th year medical student, and the current KnitSoc president! I gained so much from my time as president, but have decided to step down to a smaller role to prioritise my studies next year. One major issue that came up while running teaching sessions was that our equipment is a mess - which is why I’m running for equipment officer!

I’d love to bring back an official yarn and needle borrowing system for the society, better organise our yarns and equipment to be more accessible for everyone to use, and purchase more crochet hooks, and equipment for any special workshops we want to run, e.g. macrame and needle felting! I’d also like to perfect the system where we purchase a ball of yarn for beginner knitters, and expand this to apply to all new paid members! I think that a system where members could purchase discounted yarns and needles through the society is also worth investigating, and I'd love to finally get some KnitSoc merch.

Above all else, I want to continue working to improve the society, and give back to the community the means so much to me!

Heer Mann

Hello, I’m Heer and I’d love to be your Equipment Officer! Ever since learning how to knit & crochet over nine years ago, I’ve been hooked (ba dum tss). Going to KnitSoc has been one of my favourite parts of my first year, and I’d like to be a part of the committee in order to continue to spread a love of all things knitting & crochet!

If elected, I’ll ensure that the supply of yarn and snacks will be aplenty, and I promise to implement feedback on the variety of materials available. I think that I’m a good fit for the role because of my organisation, enthusiasm, and approachability. I hope that I have your vote!
