Hi! My name is Emilie and I study Nutrition. I’ve been part of K-pop Society since my first year at uni. I’ve been actively participating in my second year, dancing in the first-term showcase and at the Bloomsbury show! I like to dance and pretend I can belt high notes like Taeyeon in “Step Back” >o<
My aim as a Welfare Officer would be to improve your student life by fostering harmony between our society members. I'm familiar with the responsibilities that come with being a Welfare Officer, since I’ve taken on the same role in my second year for the Cheesegrater Magazine Society. I'm ready to expand my knowledge as a Communications Officer as well.
I have developed my active listening skills in my role as a Students’ Safeguard at my past school. This has led me to do a hospital placement where I learnt how to resolve conflict and mitigate emotionally charged situations among healthcare workers, patients and their families.
Being in the event planning committee has also equipped me with relevant experience, as it was part of my job to settle disputes between staff and students, along with working on solutions that appeased both sides.
I’m known among my peers to be an honest and open-minded friend dedicated to their emotional and physical wellbeing. I would love to share my skills with those around me.
My door is always open for conversations about uni life, health, love, music, food, hot K-pop choreos and much more!
Hi! I am Bianne and I am running to be your Welfare & Communications Officer in the coming academic year.
As a fresher, I felt welcomed by the society and it is a place where I can relieve all my stress from the exhausting coursework and exams. Being a member of the society is my most memorable experience this year. I hope that Kpop Soc will also positively enhance your uni life, and so, all of your opinions and voices should be heard. I will do my best to provide a platform for everyone to say out what's in their mind. It can be anything, not limited to the society, since your mental health is also my top priority and I am willing to be your listener and supporter as I am friendly and approachable :) I believe my experience as a House vice-captain in my high school helps me with my organisation and communication skills, which is essential as a Welfare & Communications Officer as I have to keep track of everything that is happening in the society and give support to all other officers. And I hope I can make you smile :D during the week by writing cute, interesting mailers and answering all queries that you have.
Words are hard to express how Kpop Soc has shaped me, and by being your Welfare & Communications Officer, I hope I can continue to make Kpop Soc a welcoming and friendly place for all to dive into KPOP!
