As I had previous experiences in terms of organizing events, I developed good organization skills and communication skills. Working with other people can be challenging. As I am friendly and outgoing, and thus I can handle all those tasks perfectly. Laying out time plans for socials, announcing them on different social platforms, and contacting other universities and societies would not be a problem for me.

K-pop culture is gaining popularity around the UK,  and I am a fan of this culture. I've been doing K-pop dances for many years, and therefore I need the needs of different types of K-pop dances. Being creative is not as easy as my people think, but I am a person who always comes up with new ideas and new thoughts. As the event coordinator, I will work with other members of the K-pop team to produce the most exciting events for the UCL community.

Karla Yang

Hey everyone! I’m Karla Yang from South Korea, running to be your next Event coordinator of UCL KPOP society! I am currently a second-year Information Management for Business student. Simply, studying business management and IT (such as programming). I was able to meet friends through this society who love my country, language, and my culture. I want to actively work for them and guide them more about it.

I grew up listening to KPOP. Dancing is my way to relieve stress and I have enjoyed doing girl groups’ dance covers with my friends. Joining this society, I have actively participated in various activities/events (i.e. term1 showcase, term2 showcase, and will soon perform at the Atiny Exhibition (Ateez dance cover)). Check out my videos here! https://youtu.be/yCV6v68-GZI https://youtu.be/m-kzMU9jSN0 https://youtu.be/qx_lnqB0vJw

I will commit to the following initiatives:

1. For those who love/ want to experience Korean food:
-Visit Korean restaurants& provide a guide (how to eat)

2. For those who want to learn Korean:
-Korean tutorials (using Drama. KPOP)

3. More opportunities to interact/ create a friendly supportive atmosphere:
-more inter-uni events
E.g. battles, dance cover collaboration
-Tiktok/ Instagram reels
Provide a chance to make a fancy choreography video.
-Games in Korean shows (e.g. ShinSeoYuGi)

Vote for me! I will try my best as I can to best understand your needs :)

Ingrid Lam

Being able to have in-person events has no doubt been responsible for the many memories created this year, and I am no different - I am running for Events Coordinator because I would love to be part of the team that keeps that spark alive and be an active member in this society's growth.

Kpop is an expanding environment and I've had the pleasure of meeting many people with different hobbies and priorities. As Events Coordinator, I hope to deliver a broad range of events, from beginner-friendly dance classes and RPDs, to non-dance related socials such as kdrama nights and speed friending! My priority would be to nurture a friendly community by taking into account everyone's thoughts and sentiments; I would do this by sending feedback forms after every event and working with other members of the committee to turn ideas into reality.

On top of my organisational skills (thank you Google Calendar), I hope that my approachable personality and openness to new ideas makes me a good candidate for Events Coordinator!

P.S let's bring back Chimaek nights :)
