My manifesto is that my love for Ireland is very strong. I have inherited it from my mother who
comes from county Tipperary. I have a huge interest in Irish culture especially in the traditional
sports such as gaelic football and hurling. I have grown up watching my county Tipperary and
club Loughmore-Castleiney. I even attended the 2019 All-Ireland hurling final, which Tipperary
won. I've spent nearly all my Summers in Ireland, visiting family and friends, and love going
there. My Irish roots are a great source of pride for me, hence why I would love to be on the
committee.

Being the Education and Language officer would allow me to show and develop other people's
passion for all things Irish. It would be a great opportunity to show that there is more to Ireland
than pints of Guinness and potatoes. Educating others about the history and culture of Ireland
would be great fun, as Irish history is very interesting and often not taught at all. The Irish
language is an often forgotten part of Ireland, as it is only spoken in small pockets of places,
and it would be great to enrich this part of me.

I'm very committed and determined and will serve the committee well. I'd love to be part of the
committee and would work as hard as I could to make the Irish and Northern Irish society as fun
and enjoyable as possible. Thank you.

Having been an active member of Irish society for the past two years, I believe that I am the perfect candidate to sit on committee for the coming academic year. Through my role as education officer, I will seek to cultivate the collective cultural knowledge that members of the society have through regular Irish dance lessons, with a particular focus on Ceilis: the most traditional form of collective Irish dance. As a grade 8 student in Irish dance, which I have been practicing since the age of 4, I believe I have the skills and knowledge to teach this central part of our culture to others in a way that educates members about a key Irish tradition whilst also having lots of craic!! ☘️
