Aksha Pore

Hey I'm Aksha, a first year Medic who you might know as the girl who said sorry a million times in the bloopers video - I’m applying for Vice President !

As VP, I’d like to:

- Organise chill socials, where you can meet other Indians and make new friends, bridging the gap between home and international students with Indian games like antakshari and more live sports viewings.

- Work closely with the Cultural officer to organise Indian guest speakers to increase awareness of current social issues and what we can do to help tackle them.

- Grow our current number of Med tutorials and establish these for second and hopefully third years too!

As a First Year Rep, I’ve had insight into the logistics of pulling off memorable clubbing nights and our renowned events Jashn and Dhamaal. Putting together charity events in sixth form and helping coordinate Chai in the Quad have strengthened my organisational skills so I’ll be able to effectively help the Social Secretaries pull off many incredible events! I’m good at working in teams, am friendly and enthusiastic, and my experiences as head girl will help me not only delegate responsibilities to help support the President and Treasurer, but also be someone who anyone can come to with worries or suggestions :)

Vote Aksha!

Dileep Sohal

I’m Dileep Sohal.

As your Vice President my main goals are:

-           to raise money by acquiring sponsorships

-           a more integrated society with a wider range of activities aimed to accommodate for more people, such as games nights alongside maintaining the number of clubbing events.

-           to use my network to increase the outreach of events

Being a First Year Representative has allowed me to gain insight into how the society works and how to run it efficiently. I have worked as a team in organising events like Jashn, Dhamaal and Chai in the Quad and will work harder as Vice President to ensure everyone has the most memorable experience next year.

Previous experience includes liaising with successful alumni of my secondary school by organising and managing events to allow students to build connections within their industry. These skills I have developed can be used for more Economics, Business and Computer Science based talks.

So vote for Dileep Sohal as VP if you want mad socials, a tight community and career-based talks. Who else could do a better job.
