Hockey Club (Men's): 1st XI Captain

I would like to nominate myself for the captaincy of the 1st XI as I believe that I am able to best facilitate the progression of the team and club throughout next season. I would come into the role with experience of elite-level hockey, having played in the EH National League and the top end of the EH Player Pathway. I have in-depth experience and understanding of what is necessary to promote and sustain a team capable of playing to an elite standard. Furthermore, I have prior experience of leading successful teams, having captained at school, as well as within Home Nations and Performance Centre tournaments. Over the last 5 years, I have had the privilege of working with the best and most innovative coaches in the UK, and I believe this would allow me to bring a fresh approach to both training and match play. I could draw from my prior experiences to make improvements in this area, and I would also actively seek input from senior squad members, along with freshers; allowing us to have the freedom to decide collectively how to focus training sessions; and to then develop as a team.
