Hi everyone!
I'll start by going over what I've done for the society this year. It's been my pleasure working on the Green360 Newsletter, writing articles every month about the latest developments in green business. I've also been helping out with the Green Business Forum, sourcing a speaker from the startup world, and sorting some of the scheduling.
Why do I want to run? Because I want to see this society expand and become a really significant presence in the green community of London. London is the startup hub of the UK and is home to countless exciting research projects; Green Economy Society should be a focal point connecting students with careers and supporting new projects.
Here is a summary of what I want to achieve as Vice President.
1. Organize large socials bringing in people from the many different green-focused societies at UCL.
2. Produce a careers guide on finding a job in sustainable sectors and arranging a mentoring scheme.
3. Find sponsorships with established environmentally friendly companies.
4. Forge links with other universities to host larger events.
5. Add an organized startup pitching competition to the Green Business Forum.
Thank you for reading (and hopefully for voting!); together, we can lead Green Economy Society into the future!

There are many things people can do to help the climate crisis however large scale change will only come from changes in policy and through innovative, disruptive thinking to find ways to move closer to a green economy. I wish to help encourage this large scale change and that is why I wish to be part of the Green Economy Society Committee.
I have experience in a senior position within a society as President of MedTech UCL 2020/21. During that year in order to grow the society I doubled the committee size and reorganised the society committee structure allowing us to launch several new initiatives including a Mentorship Programme and a Women in MedTech series, which are now annual events, triple the MedTech UCL social media following and organise conferences including the flagship AI in Medicine Conference, one of the largest of that year. That year, the society was also nominated for two society awards including 'Most Developed Society'. This has allowed me to gain experience planning events, working with a large committee and not just creating a vision for the year but also executing that vision to see tangible results. I hope to use this experience to help grow this society, support the president in their activities and help students understand more about the green economy and how to be a part of it.
