German Society: Director of Speaker Events

My name is Jakob and I’m from Berlin, though I’ve been in the UK for 9 years now. I’m currently in my first year, studying Data Science BSC. Having organised speaker events in my old school, I feel that I am the right person for this position. I have a decent network across both Germany and the UK, in a bunch of industries.

Furthermore, given my experience in web-development, I’ll get the German society website back up and running ASAP. I believe I can really make a difference to the society beyond my role.

Also, love them or hate them, my special talent is knowing Schlager songs off by heart and I have a soft spot for Flachwitze– so I’m obviously vibes ?

Hey everyone!

I’m Karim and I am running for the Director of Speaker events. I have a keen interest in establishing contact with other professionals and people of your interest with the goal to provide amazing learning opportunities and experiences for you.

In this coming year, I would love to expand the speaker events repertoire and enable potential career opportunities for anyone that is interested in working in Germany or London. This summer I will be taking part in an Amazon internship where I will be working as an AWS sales intern. I will use this experience to provide you with direct networking opportunities for anyone interested in Amazon.

I am very excited about having the chance to create in-person speaker events, therefore, these are the three key areas I will focus on for the upcoming year:

Firstly, inviting highly experienced professionals from all sorts of industries where I will be putting a huge emphasis on collaborating with other German societies across London so look out for many joint events. 

Secondly, I will make sure to create highly interactive and engaging events that will allow any German society member to see this as a learning opportunity.

Thirdly, I want to make sure I can take your requests and your input as you are very important to our society so you get to have the best experience possible.
