Candidates

Kavya Subramanian

I have genuinely enjoyed being part of the Genetics Society this year and I wish to contribute towards creating the same experience for future members. I nominate myself for this specific position since I believe that I have the qualities required to be a good Outreach Officer and be a compelling candidate.

I’m an outgoing person with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Being a people’s person, I’m confident when reaching out to make new connections.

My experiences with public speaking and debate have honed my ability to communicate both professionally and casually as and when the situation calls for. I’m also currently working a part time job as a ‘Presenter’ at Elevate Education where my primary role is to be a highly engaging and effective communicator when presenting seminars to school students across the UK.

During my school years, I’ve constantly engaged with the school community by taking up leadership positions like being the Cultural Secretary and the Head Girl of the student council, both of which heavily involved outreach and taking initiative.

Hopefully my skills and my personality can bring something exciting to next year’s Gen Soc committee.
