Harry Traherne

Hi, I'm Harry! I am running to be Drama Producer as I believe I have the necessary skills required to continue the amazing work being done and help guide future term productions to new heights. Organisation is at the heart of this role and as producer for the Term 2 film I am already gaining invaluable experience regarding the intricacies of a film's production and how to best manage it. Moreover, this is a role that requires significant time commitment – something I am willing to provide to the detriment of my degree (wow he’s so committed). I am an incredibly enthusiastic person who will bring my all to the role, I want us all to succeed together and make some insane films on the way.

Things I will do:

  • Create a homely environment on set and ensuring that every member of the crew feels valued! This would include lots of crew socials and T-shirts!
  • Increase opportunities to participate in term films! They are such a great opportunity to learn so I would seek to expand the crew and ensure as many people as possible are able to take part – if you’ve paid for production membership you must receive production experience.
  • Enter our films into more festivals! You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - you better be thanking me in your award speeches.
  • Push through term films to be released within our lifetimes! A difficult challenge, but one I am willing to fight for.

Barbara Kononova

Prior to joining the society, I have been involved in Film throughout my two-year International Baccalaureate program in Helsinki. After coming to UCL with a goal to continue my filmmaking pathway, I had the chance to work with the current Drama Producer, Bryn Chiappe, and was selected as one of the term film producers.

I took advantage of this opportunity and shadowed committee and crew members, and took away an integral part from the experience - inclusivity.

Whether you share a background in film with a skillset under your belt, or you intend to participate in a project for the first time, there will be a spot for you. Each person on the team brings something to the table, and my hope is to augment the experience I have had and pass it along to next year's crew.

And now, as a BA Media student, I want to carry on the inclusive, team-building environment through collaboration with my department. In order to do so, I will be aiming to:

  • Organize workshops in the Media Knowledge Lab; sound design, editing, and camera skills sessions.
  • Provide equipment loans from the department, as I have previously done with the term I film.
  • Incorporate interactive and creative opportunities that will enhance term films by listening to your needs and suggestions.

I want to continue dedicating my time and energy to the Film and TV society, and I want to share my knowledge just as much as I want to learn from others in the process.
