Filipino Society: Publicity & Media Officer

Hey everyone! My name is Andrei and this year I am running for the position of Media and Publicity Officer.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as part of our society and I am grateful to have met so many cool and interesting new people. After having the pleasure of attending the events and meet ups this year, I have come to realise and appreciate the effort the committee have put in for our benefit- for this upcoming year I want to grasp the opportunity to help in this process so that both our current and future members can enjoy another great year together!

I hope to become Media and Publicity Officer so that I can continue the great promotion we have had for our events- and I aim to make everyone feel welcome and regularly informed across all our social media. Furthermore, I aspire to strengthen and maintain a strong social media presence by sharing content regarding both our events and projects, but also our culture and community as well. In the past I have had experience promoting my friend’s social media app- this involved me creating and distributing posters as well as helping to create social media posts. Additionally, I have also helped to make promotional videos for ‘Sense’, a deafblind charity, that I volunteered at. I feel like these past experiences have helped me to gain skills in marketing that will hep me excel in this role.

Hi I’m Jhem! I’ve loved being part of FilSoc since my first year. I’ve connected with so many new people and I’ve made so many new friends through the society. So I’d love to be part of the committee! As the publicity and media officer, I’d create materials to promote the society’s socials for the year, as well as materials for other important updates. I’ve always been creative since I was little and when I grew up, my creativity inspired my love of art. I love drawing and painting and creating art, and I also love creating art digitally. I believe my love for art will create aesthetic yet informative materials for the society, making me a perfect fit for the role. I am also a perfectionist, and I take pride in what I create artistically and aesthetically, so I will dedicate my time and creative effort into the role of being the publicity and media offer for the Filipino Society. I look forward to hopefully being part of the FilSoc committee and cooperating with fellow committee to keep celebrating our culture with others!
