Eurasian Business Society: Vice President

Though I am studying Biomedical Sciences, I have a very strong interest in the sphere of business and entrepreneurship. As a kid, I would always show enthusiasm for gaining knowledge in enterprise; I would look up to my father, an owner of multiple successful businesses, and my mother, who managed many companies. 

Born in Hong Kong, growing up in Russia and studying in the UK, I have gained an insight in the differences between the mechanisms, technicalities, methods and ethics of running a business in specific countries but, also, worldwide. Being able to see the current political and economical affairs with an unbiased perspective allows me to hold educating discussions on numerous topics. 

Before UCL, I studied at Shrewsbury School, where I was a Head of House, Vice-President for Global Social Leaders, Secretary of the Charity Committee. All positions taught me many skills, some of which are: organisation, leadership, teamwork and communication. 

I am standing for the position of Vice-President of the Eurasian Business Society as it allows me to be able to fulfil my dream of giving many different people opportunities of broadening their knowledge in the industry, work in a team that organises events with individuals that have achieved many things throughout their careers and to provide a better understanding in economic, financial and political situations in Eastern Europe, to ones that are interested. 

 If I become a vice president of Eurasian Business Society I want to radically transform the society in such a way that it would truly represent its name. In order to do so, I want to implement the following strategies:

- Within Eurasian Business Society I want to create branches of people from various East European Countries. For instance, there would be Serbian, Polish, Baltic and Romanian branches. Each of those branches would be independent of russian speaking branch however we can orgonize certain events together. The active recruitment for such branches would begin in the beginning of next academic year

- Given the ongoing War in Ukraine, I believe that our society's clear stance and unacceptance of the Putin's agression can only be welcomed and praised. The charity events which we organized so far (raising money for the refugees and donating clothes) shows the nature of the people which are present in our society and their commitment to the highest morale standards. As such I belive that further staps should be made and Eursian Business Society should run more charity events which would aim to help those in need from all over the Eastern Europe (especially Ukraine). In this light, I believe that we should create a new branch which would oversee the charity events. 

It is hard to overestimate the importance of EBS in the lives of Eurasian students in London and Eastern Europe. Over the years, it has established itself as a substantial media platform that provides education and socialisation to its members. The ability of an individual to explore a vast variety of political opinions, learn more about possible career paths and engage in a conversation with modern influencers is key to personal growth and EBS allows participating in those activities. 

I believe that my 2-year experience in society and connections with founders as well as contemporary officeholders will allow me to successfully cooperate with members of EBS to make it an even more informative and relevant space. I would consider it an honour to take upon myself the responsibilities of a Vice President in a society, the values of which are so close to my own.
