Coming from a country where women are underrepresented in Technology and Engineering, I am aware of the courage and perseverance it takes for women to join, and consequently thrive in a male dominated sector. As the Director of Women in Tech, I will endeavour to make UCLE a society where women feel supported and encouraged to follow their passion. I aim to encourage collaboration between skilled members by organising frequent, free in-person socials and skill-development workshops. I view UCLE as a society where emerging female entrepreneurs can find the missing pieces in their puzzle, be it in terms of funding, developing skills or finding the right people.

I aim to foster collaboration with emerging and established female-led technology start-ups and lay the groundwork for potential opportunities for our members. For instance, instead of focusing solely on panel-led Q&A’s, it would be great to collaborate with companies which would give our members an opportunity to visit their workplace and shadow current employees. I aspire to make UCLE a motivating space where everybody is inspired to think, create, and initiate. Having served as the First-Year Rep for the EEE department, Events Executive for UCL WES and Workshops Executive for UCL EWB, I am well-acquainted with the challenges that leadership and representation entail. I am confident that my determination can accelerate the progress of this society and inspire the next generation of female technologists.
