From hosting more than a thousand international students for a leadership conference at the age of 16 to learning and appreciating the value of ingenuity as a storyteller and marketer for various entities, I believe at the heart of my pursuit lies the common denominator  a passion for people and innovative ideas capable of disrupting, redefining and revolutionise when we need it the most. I am deeply humbled by my election as the Global Head of External Liaison of an international entrepreneurship organisation which gave me an opportunity I have always yearned: to learn, to share and to contribute. Most importantly, I understand how the ecosystem works, the process of ideation and the difficulties entrepreneurs face in each phase. In fact, I was one of them and had the pleasure to witness it with my own eyes when I worked alongside some of the world's most brilliant start-ups such as Rice Inc and IGL Coatings with a great emphasis on social impact. There is one final testament to my desire to run. As a member of Entrepreneurship Society, I had been passively enjoying the fruits of labour of the committee, without contributing as much as I could. This is something I am greatly ashamed of. So, here I am. I am standing for this position because I want to be of service, to be in awe of individuals sharing my passion to build our own legacies, in helping budding entrepreneurs within the community bloom within the ecosystem of innovation and business.

Louis Ho

Hello everyone, I’m Louis, a Chemical Engineering student running for the Director of Sponsorship and External relations at UCLE.

Having work experience in several financial services corporations, I was involved in obtaining sponsorships from stakeholders for several projects where I was able to convert 90% of my prospects into actual sponsors, resulting in over £7000 raised. Accustomed to the way of maintaining strong relationships with new and existing sponsors, I believe that I can help UCLE achieve its mission and provide members with more opportunities and unforgettable experiences.

As the Head of Sponsorship, I can guarantee you that I will utilise my existing industry connections to extend the array of sponsors to provide you with the best career opportunities, insights and events to interact with employers from your dream firm as well as strengthen the existing ties with our current sponsors.

Looking ahead, my vision involves:

  • Increasing the number of sponsors from a wider array of industries
  • Maintain and strengthen ties with our existing sponsors
  • Providing more career opportunities, networking events and insights from our sponsors

I strongly believe that it is these opportunities that play a key role in securing your dream position.

Vote for Louis, vote for someone with experience in the sector who can bring you opportunities that get you one step closer to your dream role.

Edward S Lawrence

I joined UCL Entrepreneurs within a week of commencing my studies at UCL and have since taken on a role as Events Executive, doing my bit to help students along their entrepreneurial journey. Entrepreneurship has long been a big part of my life; for as long as I can remember, I have aspired to build my own company in the property sector. To this end, I won the Junior Achievement Australia Company of the Year award in high school with ‘Jacqués Pavel’, participated in incubators such as i48 and Kickstart, and worked as a full-time real estate sales agent for almost two years before moving two UCL, selling 66 homes. The skills and tenacity I developed through these endeavours have empowered me in my present role at UCLe to organise and run such successful events as the fireside chat with Luka Eerens or the UCLe Pitch Competition in partnership with Modulous. I am now standing to be the new Director of Sponsorship and External Relations so that I can better contribute to UCL’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Backed by stronger funding and closer relationships with our sponsors, UCLe will be able to run more events that attract more student entrepreneurs with content more relevant to their aspirations. Every student at UCL has the capacity to be a successful entrepreneur, and it is our responsibility at UCLe to provide the support, facilitate the connections and impart the knowledge necessary to harness that potential in everyone.
