For many, Bloomsbury Ventures is the perfect stepping stone into both UCLE as a wider society and VC as an industry. For me, personally, the Bloomsbury Ventures experience was a highlight of the week, and in this role I can emulate this experience for new cohorts.

My ambition for the programme, on top of the standard talks, would entail larger events and potentially a flagship event in which industry leaders talk in a conference-style event about trends and news in the VC space, with the opportunity for BV participants to network one-to-one with these leaders. Furthermore, streamlining the programme for participants in terms of pre-set dates, clearer indication of eligibility for completion and the award of a certificate at the end fo the series would make BV an experience to cherish. Indeed, I would also work together with the VC fund director to establish links and a potential pipeline for those successful in the BV course to take action upon their newly-learned skills within the fund.

My passion for VC, developed throughout my own Bloomsbury Ventures experience, would make be best placed to deliver an even better and more varied syllabus for participants, as well as offer them greater actionable opportunities.

Over the past six months, I have worked with UCL Entrepreneurs as an executive within the marketing division, responsible for creating social media content, implementing multi-platform marketing strategies, and releasing the weekly newsletter to over 3k subscribers. I have particularly enjoyed my time collaborating with the VC Fund Committee, as their work in venture capital compliments my own interests as an Information Management for Business (Business Management and Computer Science) BSc student. Moving forward, I am applying to join the UCLe committee next year as the Director of Business Games and Director of Bloomsbury Ventures. I have previous experience in event organising for 200+ people, line-managing a team of 18 employees, and handling annual budgets. I feel that my experience in management, budgeting, and marketing, as well as my passion for entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for young founders, will help me to succeed in these roles.
