Parth Relhan

Hi everyone, I’m Parth – and I look forward to being your next Vice President of Client Relations.

Having been the Managing Director of a successful student start-up, I know what it takes to secure funding from clients and uphold strong long-term relationships.

As part of my role, I aim to:

-    Help firms find and recruit the most talented students on campus

-    Build synergies with universities abroad to establish joint partnerships

-    Provide a close-knit platform upon which our sponsor firms can be promoted amongst students at UCL

Let’s continue to Encourage Future Sponsorship!

Rueben Gopaul

Hi everyone, I hope this finds you well. I am Rueben, a first year Economics undergraduate. If elected, I pledge to:

1. Co-ordinate events with the 93% club,SEO and other leading diversity-driven firms to open the playing field in terms of access to resources

2. Using my network of boutique Investment Banks and Private Equity houses, I would be well-lined up to outreach to new firms for sponsorship or bringing in guest speakers

3. Launch collaborations with the LSE BIG, Oxford and CUFIS. These could include, the traditional Christmas ball, a welcome boat party and networking events within central London, as our USP to non-London universities

4. Undertake courses/ invite speakers in education on steps to tackle discrimination, sexual harassment and on alcohol as a MUST for any committee member or mentee. I will take a hardline approach to stop any form of discrimination, drunken/under the influence behaviour and sexual abuse.

I have gained relevant soft skills and communication required for client outreach and relations through roles in EFS, M&A group and as a tutor. Combined with my personal network that helped me obtain a future role as a Summer Analyst at a mid-market firm, I firmly believe that there is scope for EFS expansion. More importantly, I prioritise myself as being approachable, well-spoken and a friendly face in the society to help people in need. EFS will survive, but it is up to you to voice the direction it embarks in.

Noa Seror

Being an outgoing and motivated person with a taste for leadership, I believe to be a suitable candidate for this role. I am the former Marketing & Business Development Assistant (Vendi), UCL M&A Group Events Executive, and Co-chief of my high school's ecological transition. I am an autonomous person that can take decisions when necessary while confronting everyone's opinions to find the best alternative.

If I were selected, I would develop Alumni networks, organize online meetings, create forums and more interactive platforms such as Instagram live Q&As with speakers.

The society would promote cooperation with new partners and organize competitions with other societies. Every member could have a voice and participate in the development of events!

Together, we could therefore develop this society.

Jennifer Wang

Being a second-year student studying Economics and Statistics, I would like to devote myself to the UCL Economics and Finance society as a Vice President of Client Relations.

Being an account manager at Uber enterprise, I was allowed to utilise my business analysis skill with the well-presented communication strategies when serving as a project leader in the onshore project in Taiwan.

Serving as a finance part-time associate at Beiersdorf, I am able to penetrate into the core of financial analysis and therefore fully utilise my data-analysis skill.

More importantly, as I was the executive of Client Project/Relations for UCL Consulting and Real estate society respectively, I am fully equipped with sufficient experience of outreaching to the clients and leading to the ultimate success.

Overall, I am keen to communicate with teammates and enjoy a sense of accomplishment when completing the tasks with the team. If I got elected for this role, I would like to maintain the excellence of previous client relationships but meanwhile innovate and improve them through the functional performance assessment and the brainstorming of the team.

My communication and leadership skills obtained from the previous experience have equipped me for being competent for this role. I would like to commit to UCL EFS using my professional knowledge. If you also want to take a leap, please vote for me.

Ananya Khurana

The UCL Economics and Finance Society epitomises the qualities that resonate with me the most: networking, innovation and teamwork. In my opinion, the most important skill a committee member and VP of Client Relations in specific must possess is the skill of intricate communication. In my capacities as Head-Girl of a 15,000 student-strong school, Secretary-General of one of the largest MUNs in the Middle East, and an intern at EY, I have been exposed to the delicate world of communication and presentation. Thus I have learned the art of working with a dynamic group of people, team-building and resolution; all of which are key abilities to being a synergetic member of the committee. Having served as an FYR in the External Relations division at the Economist’s Society has allowed me to refine the aforementioned qualities, making me fit for the role of VP of Client Relations. My vision for the society, in the scope of the role, is to implement a reasonable number of initiatives, without affecting the running of current events in any form. Socials and networking with sponsors, and the further implementation of women/diversity targeted events would allow the society to expand its community and outreach amongst both students and clients. These initiatives sound intriguing in print, but I understand, through experience, the significance of following through and implementing these innovative ideas.

Zarek Tan

Hi EFS Members,

I’m Zarek, a first-year Economics student and current VP of Client Relations.

During my term, I have worked hard to re-establish connections with old sponsor firms, such as:

1.    D.E. Shaw, a hedge fund with over $55 billion AUM

2.    Oliver Wyman and KPMG, renowned consultancy firms

3.    PJT Partners, an investment banking firm

4.    Jane Street, a quantitative trading firm

5.    And many more

In addition to hosting upcoming dedicated insight events with UCL EFS, many of these firms are looking to hire from UCL EFS’s talent pool, granting us exclusive internship opportunities.

However, I understand that not all industries are covered by our current sponsors, which is why I have continued my networking efforts. In that regard, I am also currently liaising with firms from the Venture Capital space, such as CM Ventures, and firms that can help us host more in-depth technical workshop for our internship holders, such as RDS, in addition to a host of other firms.

I have achieved these results in just a few short weeks as VP of Client Relations, and therefore hope to have your continued support so that I may continue my work in gaining more sponsors for UCL EFS, providing us with greater internship, networking, and learning opportunities.

Cheers,

Zarek

Aradhya Rathi

I'm running for the post of VP of Client Relations. I am now a freshman at UCL, where I serve as the Academic-Representative. I like to think of myself as a trustworthy, diligent person who would go to any length to finish a task effectively and on time. For example, in high school, I was the founder of a designer clothing online start-up, where I oversaw a wide range of responsibilities, from overseeing the website's operations to developing contacts with cloth designer producers, which required persistence. I'm making the switch to a VP role because I'm searching for a tougher challenge. This role would require me to put in a lot of effort in order to be successful, and I am certain that I am capable of doing so. Because of my present involvement in various campus activities, I am aware of this. As a former Project Leader for the UCL 180-degrees Consulting society, I worked directly with a client firm to solve their problem, which honed my attention to detail and leadership skills, which I am continuing to hone as the First-Year Academic Rep at UCL School of Management and as an FYR at UCL Consulting Society. If elected, I intend to put these traits of leadership to the best possible use. Fortunately for me, I have an easy year ahead of me, which will let me prepare for this position in terms of time. If I get elected as VP of CR, having this extra time will enable me to put more effort into the role and work harder on the many duties that will occur.
