Sas M M Wraith

Hi! I'm Sas. I'm standing for the Welfare Officer position because I think it's the most important role in Drama Soc; if people aren't being allowed to create in safe, healthy spaces, they won't be able to create at all. I'm hugely passionate about this wonderful society already, having spent all of first year getting well-acquainted with the lovely community in several shows (by the end of the year, I would have been involved in 6 shows, whether writing, acting, directing, or producing).

I'm also well aware of the pitfalls that being part of any show can bring with them; stress on every side, risks everywhere, and a constant need to make sure that everyone feels as comfortable and safe as they can. I really believe in making sure any and all possible problems can be fully resolved, and that all possible prior mitigations can be made in order to proactively ensure everyone's welfare.

I have several years of experience working with large groups of kids in various settings, and have therefore undergone specific training in creating safe spaces. I know the ins and outs of making sure people are kept safe, and I'd like to believe that I have a certain balance of friendliness and no-nonsense that would make pulling off the role possible.

Hi, I’m Anezka! I’m a 1st year English student at UCL and a drama/theatre enthusiast. I have been a part of the Drama Society since I joined university and have already participated in a number of productions, as well as in societal decision making. I have decided to stand for Welfare Officer within the Drama Society since I feel as though I would be able to successfully handle the responsibilities of any complaints or issues raised. Although I have only been a part of the society for a few months, I have already had an insight into the workings of the Drama committee, and fully understand the responsibilities that come with the role. I have had experience with authoritative roles in the past, and would be comfortable with being the first point of contact for any issues within the society and dealing with them accordingly. I already put many hours into the society and having a position within the committee would help me to continue to be a part of a society that I value highly.
