Drama Society: Head of Volunteering & Charity Fundraising

Hi! I'm Katya, I'm a first year English student, and I'm running for this position because I've really enjoyed being part of Drama society committee these past months, as well as the volunteering experience I've previously had, and would love to combine these two interests in an active way. 

As your Freshers' representative since November, I've directed a piece for the Pride festival, helped with the New Writing festival, organised three playwatches, and am currently in the beginning stages of directing a small show - The Night Watch. Prior to university, I've also regularly volunteered with Brighton-based mutual aid catering organisations such as the Migrant English Project and Hot Food for Hollingdean. I have tangible awareness of how organising volunteering and fundraising efforts works, and would really love to give UCL Drama Society even more of a positive influence by setting up fundraising events such as charity showcases and probably bake sales because that's my area. I would also be very interested in working to form a relationship between Drama soc and UCL's activists groups, many of which I already have contact with.
