Dodgeball Club: Women's Captain

Hi everyone! My name is Elisia and I am a first year medical student running for the role of UCL Dodgeball Club's Women's Captain this year. 

Being a member of the club has been the highlight of my year! Entering university life can seem quite dauting at first, but I am so grateful to have been welcomed into such a warm and diverse community. This is the ethos that I want to maintain within the club as Women's Captain.

Like many, I started dodgeball as a complete beginner (except for the odd chaotic PE lesson in high school!) but I was keen to take up a sport competitively. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made and it was the encouragement and support of my captain, Issy, that gave me confidence to do so. I share the same the motivation to build up and lead our competitive women’s team in every BUCS and British Dodgeball league match.

Having attended every competitive training session since arriving at UCL and competing in the BUCS Dodgeball League 2021/22, I have sound knowledge of dodgeball gameplay and rules, as well as first-hand experience of what to expect in various game situations. I will be excited to work alongside our Women’s Coach, Issy, in leading these sessions; this would involve tackling certain game scenarios and practising drills targeted towards these situations.
