Phoebe Luxford

Hi! I’m Phoebe, a keen debater and prominent member of UCL Debating Society.

This year I was part of the committee as Non-Portfolio Officer. I now believe I am experienced enough to be Secretary of the society next year.

So why should I be your Secretary?

  1. I love debating!
  2. I am very committed to the society – I have attended weekly sessions, committee meetings, competitions, socials and public debates
  3. I have attended all committee meetings and know the layout and order of them well
  4. I am very organised and efficient
  5. I have experience! – I am a UCL Hall Rep and already take minutes for the meetings with the Accommodation team and other reps

I hope this has convinced you to vote for Phoebe Luxford for Secretary!

Clarence Huang

My plan is to introduce new administrative measures to keep the society organised and running smoothly as we continue to expand. These measures include:

- a directed feedback submission system for those who want to voice their thoughts and ideas to the committee

- a public calendar that updates live so that members can organise their schedule ahead of time, which separates into various events the society holds for members who are only interested in public debates/competitions/training

- keeping track of tabs to help members build a more complete judging and speaking CV
