Election post
Dance has meant the absolute world to me for such a big portion of my life and I’d love nothing more than to share the comfort and joy it has brought me with others. I believe the role of resident choreographer will put me in a good position to do so, with much opportunity to interact with dancers while sharing my own style. I trust my background in a fairly diverse range of genres (contemporary, street, hip-hop and ballet) to allow me to fill the role with confidence. Experience from my previous dance teams has made me comfortable leading practices and teaching choreography. Choreography is something I’m passionate about, so I appreciate how this role will also allow me to provide support to choreographers. I find much beauty in how every choreography holds a piece of its choreographer in it - that makes me more than happy to offer input where needed to help choreographers expand on their ideas without taking away from the uniqueness and character of their piece. I love choreographing myself, hence choreographing finales to end off our dance shows with is something I’d be very excited to put my own spin on and will work really hard for!
