Candidates

Khushi Malaviya

Namaste everyone! My name is Khushi, and I am excited to run for your next Marketing officer.

As a first-year rep for Jain society, I’m already deeply involved in committee work. I know first-hand that effective marketing is crucial for a successful society; it’s what draws people in, whether they want to practice their faith, build a community or are just curious to learn more. Hsoc has been a cornerstone of my first year and running for committee is my way of coming to a full circle to recreate that experience for others.

Here is what I have to offer:

Creative experience: From editing engaging end-of-year recap reels and scripting comedy promos to designing professional posters on Canva, I have the technical skills ready to go.

An eye for culture: I love how the previous marketing officers' posts beautifully weaved in elements of our culture, like a faint rangoli or an Om symbol. With a strong eye for contrast and aesthetics, I’ll keep our branding pretty and meaningful.

Teamwork & consistency: Big flagship events like Rangeela, which I was also convinced to join through its brilliant advertising, require seamless collaboration. Being outgoing and approachable, I’m excited to work closely with the marketing team and the Sanskaar officers to ensure every event and weekly session gets maximum visibility.

I have the vision, the drive, and the creative experience to elevate our media presence. Vote me for Marketing Officer. Thank you!

Tanya Rathod

Hi, I’m Tanya, and I would love to be Marketing Officer for UCL Hindu Society! I’ve always been passionate about our culture, and being part of this society has already given some of my favourite memories.  I want to help make our community more vibrant and inclusive – making every member feel connected and excited about what the society has to offer. I have experience with social media and video editing programmes, which I have used to create engaging, attention-grabbing content. I love thinking creatively about how to showcase and advertise events, for example through posters, stories or reels. I enjoy staying on top of trends, and I think I can help make our marketing exciting. Additionally, I understand that organisation and planning are important for successful marketing. I am motivated and able to prioritise tasks so that posts and updates run smoothly and on time – especially around bigger events (such as Rangeela or Diwali Ball). If I am chosen as Marketing Officer, I aim to help elevate Hindu Society’s presence and increase engagement – building excitement for events before they even begin. Thank you!

Saanvi Nagaraj

Hi everyone, my name is Saanvi Nagaraj and I’m a 1st year Medical student. Having grown up surrounded by South Indian Hindu culture, I’m well versed in the traditions that form the basis of the religion. Attending various Hindu Soc events and seeing the vast range they provide to the members such as Dball, Garba, Rangeela - I felt as though the sense of community is deeply emphasised. as marketing officer, you have to build relationships with every committee member making it one of the most diverse roles. So how can that be showcased in a marketing strategy?

I believe I am suited for Head of Marketing/Marketing Officer due to my proficiency with understanding brand intentions as well as my experience utilising tools such as Canva, Premier Pro, Capcut. Capitalising on high yield social networks such as Instagram and Tiktok will allow the society to grow in reach and I believe I can lead this.

  • publicity officer for medical society with 17,000 followers
  • ran my schools and prefect teams instagram alongside creating newsletters

In terms of what I can bring to society is the understanding of our audience. Focusing on the new influx of freshers in the new year and engaging them is key for the growth of this society - a fresh marketing strategy could fulfil this.

  • my main idea would be pushing out a newsletter, collaboration within the society and informs all our members the main events all in a concise manner making it easier to refer to
Pranjal Priya Singh

I believe I am a strong candidate for Marketing Officer for UCL Hindu Society as I have a clear understanding of digital promotion and a strong foundation in design. In the past, I have designed all advertisements for Sutton Cultural Club’s large-scale events, including Diwali and Saraswati Pooja, creating visually striking and culturally aligned content while developing a strong sense of branding and audience appeal.
Guided by my belief in Dharma, I also aided in designing the website and Instagram account for an India-based tech charity I volunteered with, helping build cohesive online branding to engage donors and students in tackling educational poverty in Indian villages.
Furthermore, I have also designed the yearbook for my secondary school, a project that required creativity, organisation and attention to detail across many months. Skills also highlighted through my new tiktok platform with my most recent video reaching 200,000 views and 25,000 likes in under a week. This emphasises my ability to identify trends and create resonating and well liked content, highlighting how I can maintain high design standards whilst being mindful of deadlines - an essential skill for this committee role.
Ultimately, I am enthusiastic to bring creativity and commitment to UCL Hindu society’s online presence and marketing value by using fresh and engaging ideas; I would be committed to promoting Hindu values, traditions and events in a creative, respectful and impactful way.

Nidhi Pai Raiturkar

Hi, my name is Nidhi and I'd love to be your marketing officer :)

I have experience marketing events and socials through UCL. One example of this was on Physics and Astronomy (PandA) day, wherein I worked extensively with students and professors alike to organise the event and garner attendees. I also have experience posting to social media as I am currently a Digital Student Ambassador for the MAPS faculty and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. This includes having the creative freedom to come up with a pitch, edit it, and submit it to post on Instagram and YouTube.

As marketing officer, I will be able to transfer these skills to help advertise society events better!

Tanay Pangam

Namaste Everyone,

My motivation to apply for Marketing Officer at UCL Hindu Society comes from a genuine wish to share the warmth, creativity, and inclusivity of our Hindu heritage with the wider campus. I’ve experienced Hindu culture not just as ritual, but as a living vocabulary of music, food, stories, and service - and I want our socials, campaigns, and collaborations to reflect that energy.

I bring more than ideas - I bring execution. As CEO of a Young Enterprise team, I led business pitches and end‑to‑end marketing campaigns, turning concepts into sales and measurable reach. That experience sharpened my instincts for audience insight, clear positioning, and content that travels.

I’ll grow our marketing with three focused moves that turn interest into community: curated collaborations with performing‑arts and cultural societies - salon‑style events that put Hindu culture in dialogue with campus life - to expand our audience and spark premium word‑of‑mouth; refined “Campus Culture Games” that transform everyday spaces into shareable moments, fueling Reels and Stories while keeping our brand playful and visible; and a polished YouTube channel to house festival spotlights, five‑minute explainers, and behind‑the‑scenes vignettes - evergreen, searchable content that compounds reach and offers partners a standout showcase.

Let’s make our Hindu culture impossible to miss: thoughtful in message, bold in design, and consistent in impact.
