Pryvit!
My name is Sonia Dikhtiarenko, and I’m standing for Treasurer of UCL Ukrainian Society.
This year, as Communications Manager, I helped organise and deliver thought-provoking discussions and high-profile events, from moderating a conversation with Sviatoslav Vakarchuk to curating an exhibition and guided tour at Chatham House. Beyond UCL, I serve as Communications Director at UA.Youth, where I’ve strengthened media outreach and engagement with the wider audiences.
What I will deliver as Treasurer
- Collaborative budgeting with the committee – working closely with every committee member to turn their event ideas into achievable plans
- Accessible membership pricing – reviewing and, where possible, reducing membership fees so cost is never a barrier to joining
- Targeted sponsorship and grants – actively seeking external funding for large events, keeping ticket prices low for students
- Stronger partnerships – expanding links with Ukrainian brands and organisations in London to secure mutual support
- Constructive work with the Students’ Union – after recent suspension, I will prioritise rebuilding a positive relationship with the SU, rooted in transparency and mutual respect, so we can focus on supporting students and celebrating Ukrainian culture
UCL Ukrainian Society is not just another student group. We are a stage for Ukraine’s leading voices and culture. I’m eager to help us reach even greater heights.
If you share this vision, I'd be honoured to have your vote.
Дякую!
