Karvith Ramesh

I’m applying to be the Social Secretary of UCL Tamil Society because I want to help build a stronger, more connected Tamil community on campus. Growing up, Tamil culture played a central role in shaping my identity, and I’ve always found joy in bringing people together through shared experiences. I see this role as an opportunity to create inclusive, engaging events that reflect the diversity of our society while strengthening our cultural roots.

As Social Secretary, I’d focus on curating a mix of events—from casual socials and games nights to larger, more ambitious collaborations with other societies. I want our events to be spaces where both freshers and older students feel welcome, heard, and valued. I’m confident in my ability to organize, promote, and execute events, drawing from past experience in [insert brief example if you have one, like school events, other societies, etc.], and I work well under pressure.

I’m approachable, full of ideas, and genuinely passionate about our culture and community. I want to help make Tamil Soc a place people are proud to be part of—not just for the language and food, but for the sense of belonging we create together. I’d love the chance to contribute to that as your Social Secretary.
