Election post
SingSoc to me is the comfort of familiarity in a foreign city — spontaneous bubble tea runs, the unspoken understanding when someone complains about the Tube, and shared laughs over missing chicken rice. It’s a space that feels like home, even miles away from it.
I’m running for Treasurer because I find real satisfaction in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. In school, I led a merchandise sale and carnival that raised thousands of dollars. At UCL, I organised a ticketed escape room fundraiser for AIESEC, which gave me valuable exposure to working with the SU on event ticketing and approvals.
These experiences gave me a solid foundation in budgeting, settling payments, and coordinating logistics for large-scale events — aka a true admin saikang warrior. I hope to bring these skills to SingSoc by building internal systems that make funding and transactions seamless.
My vision isn’t to introduce flashy changes, but to ensure every cent is accounted for and every process runs smoothly. To me, the Treasurer is the skeleton of SingSoc — quietly holding things together. I’ll work closely with the Events and Sponsorship Directors to secure SGN funding and streamline ticketing, making it easier for you to snag slots for bigger, better SingSoc events. My experience liaising with the SU also means I can support the President in ensuring smooth approvals and documentation.
It’d be an honour to serve, and to have your support too! :”)
