Hi, my name is Jamie and I’m running for the role of Treasurer next year!
Pi Media is an incredible society, and as Treasurer, I would want to maximise the number of opportunities that are available to our writers. I would work to improve the general day-to-day member experience at Pi by managing our finances efficiently and drawing upon all available resources to ensure our journalism remains the highest-quality on campus - whether that be through fundraising events, seeking alumni donations, or liaising with the SU.
Aside from fulfilling all responsibilities laid out in the Club and Society Regulations, I would work to:
- Create a dedicated ‘event fund’ to facilitate more in-person events for members
- Diversify Pi’s income streams by seeking ads and sponsorships (leveraging Pi’s online presence), running workshops or paid events, or even selling Pi merchandise
- Invest in equipment for PiTV by budgeting for key gear (cameras, mics, lighting) on a rolling basis
- Maintain meticulous, transparent financial records to ensure every transaction is documented and visible to Pi’s members
- Form a mini-committee dedicated to fundraising for Pi
Writing for Pi has been an immensely positive experience, and I’d be privileged to help extend that opportunity to others as Treasurer. I’m confident I could do a great job in this role, and would commit myself fully to maximising Pi’s financial potential and contributing to our growth.
