Hi! I'm Seiya, current Vice-President of the society and a second-year undergraduate studying English Literature. You may have seen me helping out during events, or perhaps you've seen me running around London taking photos! As Vice-President this academic year, I helped organise and run several key events. We did a lot this year - we held workshops, invited industry professionals to share their knowledge for many of them, had our first magazine in society history, AND had an exhibition!!
But there's still more we can do. As President, I will aim to increase our equipment, both film and digital, and make borrowing gear easy and exciting. I'm also looking to increase the number of outdoor workshops and photowalks (+socials), including to the many art galleries in London, and street/nature/model workshops in lesser-known parts of the city, especially during the first two terms. We are also yet to have a trip!
I would also like to take advantage of UCL's amazing location - and collaborate more with the wider photography (+uni) community in London. I will also make seeing your work in print a closer reality, holding a zine workshop where you can build your own photobooks by hand.
Whether you're a veteran or you're just starting out, and whatever type of photographer (astro, street, macro, anything!) you are, I will make this society one which you can actively participate in and love. Photography is just that exciting and limitless. Thank you for reading and please vote for me!
