Hello! :)
I'm super excited to put my name forward for the position of Director of External Relations! I genuinely believe in the power of connections (Linkedin and irl-) between people, ideas, and opportunities, and want to help our society build potentially long term partnerships - think guest speakers, networking, and sponsor events that add value to our members and society. As a current ER FYR, I already have some experience interacting with sponsors, as well as insight on potential collaborations that are being discussed for the upcoming academic year - I would love to have an opportunity to build on this momentum and keep it going forward!
I'm proactive (and professional when it counts!), not afraid to shoot my shot with big names, and care deeply about making these external links relevant to you. Whether you're looking to explore future careers, compliment your understanding of what your degree and opportunities, or simply have meaningful conversations with people doing fun things with Econ out there - I gotchu.

-To expand the range of our sponsors beyond the consulting industry, in order to enable us to explore a wider variety of career options in finance/economics and its related fields and have greater opportunity to interact with employees of other major companies via the events we host, by holding them more frequently.
-To bring back the annual sponsors Conference between UCL, Warwick and Nottingham which is a great networking opportunity exclusive to economics students' held at UCL.
Hi, I'm Shreya and I'm running for the position of Director for External Relations. As FYR for internal relations, I have contributed to running several internal events with alumni, professors and students, and have helped foster engagement within UCL. However, I am eager to expand the Economist's Society's reach externally next year. As External Relations Director, I aim to foster and build on pre-existing relationships with sponsors and companies while creating new opportunities for collaboration through mentorship schemes and industry spotlights. I also aim to create new relationships externally by broadening the scope of external relations to include charities and other establishments that would increase the society's community engagement.
I believe my previous experience in Internal Relations combined with my vision for External Relations gives me a unique insight that will allow me to greatly advance the division. Moreover, my strong relationships with current committee members and my understanding of the society's operations will help me foster collaboration both internally and externally.
I really look forward to continuing to contribute to a society that I have really enjoyed being a part of.
