Hiiiiiii everyone!   From the moment I first held a calligraphy brush in elementary school, this art quietly wove itself into the fabric of my life. When I arrived in the UK, the unfamiliar environment made me hesitate to join the society initially. Yet this year, driven by my deep reverence for calligraphy, I officially became a member. Here, I’ve rediscovered the meditative peace and sense of belonging that flows between brush and ink. This is why I’m here: to channel my passion into preserving the beauty of this tradition with all of you! I'm really really excited to create ink-stained memories with you all.

I am standing for President of the UCL Chinese Art Society because I am passionate about preserving and sharing the beauty of Chinese art forms—such as calligraphy, painting, seal carving, and paper cutting—with the wider UCL community. Over the past year, I have witnessed how our events create meaningful connections between students from diverse backgrounds, and I want to continue fostering this spirit of creativity and cultural appreciation.

With experience leading collaborative events between UCL, UAL, and Kew Gardens, and serving in committee roles across societies, I have developed strong skills in event planning, team coordination, and cultural storytelling. I hope to bring this experience to support the society’s growth and deepen its artistic presence on campus. If elected, I plan to organise more hands-on workshops, invite artists and experts from various disciplines, and create space for our members to share their own artistic journeys.

My vision is to build an inclusive, vibrant, and inspiring society where both experienced artists and curious beginners feel welcome. I believe Chinese art is not only about technique but also about expression, identity, and community—and I would be honoured to serve and lead the society to continue sharing that with others.
