Swiss Society: President

Grüezi everyone! I'm Sophia, I'm originally from Zurich and I'm in my third year at UCL studying history. In the past couple of months, I've had the absolute pleasure of serving as your interim president and I would love to continue in the role permanently. My goal for this year is to make the Swiss Society an established society that will remain at UCL for years to come and that can offer a space for Swiss students and all students interested in Switzerland to connect. To achieve these aims, I want to make our events more regular and to build up a roster of events that gives the Swiss Society a firm foundation to expand on. For example, we the committee are in the process of liaising with other societies such as Austrian Society to host a mulled wine event in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas and also with Diplomacy Society to plan a trip to the Swiss Embassy. In addition to this, we will continue to host social events throughout the year as well as a chocolate and cheese event and talks about Swiss culture and politics. As your president, I will ensure that these events take place and that we also listen to you, our members, to make this society everything you want it to be.
