My interest in psychology began innocuously with the observation that different people behaved differently in similar situations. As someone passionate about mental health, I want to use my knowledge of the field to help reduce the stigma and lessen the burden on those living with mental health conditions through informed discourse. My motivation to explore all areas of psychological study led to understanding the importance of experiential learning.

Having an academic background and clinical experience in the field of psychology allowed me to comprehend the requirements of those living with mental health disorders. Previously an events organiser for the mental health society of my undergraduate university, I wish to creatively engage non-psychology scholars in the field without activities becoming synonymous to lectures. In the short term, I hope to inspire a fruitful engagement of UCL students for mental well-being. I would like to ultimately see a decrease in the need of professional counselling services. Representing an ethnic minority in the United Kingdom, I feel strongly towards the inequity in healthcare services. Ensuring students stay informed would be the first step in the rectification of this problem.

My resume is attached here for further information about my experiences in the field of mental health.
