Diplomacy Society: Career Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Ioana Paun and I am a first year BSc Politics and International Relations student. 

As Career Officer, I would strive to bring job opportunities closer to members and make it easier for them to actively learn about the job market. I wish to bring speakers from both the private and public sector and cater these events to your interests. Through such events, members would develop a better understanding of what it takes to work in certain fields, the inner workings of companies, and the hiring process. In order to make sure events are representative to your interests, I want to conduct periodic surveys to receive feedback and suggestions and to further implement them. 

Moreover, by drawing upon UCL's reputation, I would propose a career fair where members could learn about available internship positions and future career opportunities by engaging with representatives from companies. This way, members could discover new career possibilities from international security to corporate law and diplomacy. 

Thus, my main goal would be to facilitate efficient and effective networking opportunities as a way to support and guide members through the (hopefully, less intimidating) process of job/internship searching.
