I think that there are few activities more universally considered to bring people together than having a chat over a nice cup of coffee. It gives everyone a precious opportunity to relax - an opportunity that we all sorely need these days. I would take great honour in organising these events and making sure that they exist as an escape from the stresses of studying alongside a great opportunity to experience the diverse coffee culture that London has to offer.
I have extensive experience and expertise in this respect. I have worked as a departmental rep, organising and planning out projects, and I also hold a certification from the Specialist Coffee Association (SCA), but I think my most important experience lies in my extensive knowledge of the London coffee scene.
I've lived in London all my life and with that experience comes an awareness of the best locations to find good coffee. I even hold a fully systematised list of coffee shops all around London. This would be a great asset to the coffee society, especially when it comes to planning events. I also hold a list of bakeries and other foody locations, which could certainly be useful for collaborations with Food society. Alongside this, I can scope out locations better than most; my experience of finding the best places for myself has developed my instinct for finding the best areas for events.
I hope that my skills and experience will be able to help out Coffee society in the role of Events Officer. Thank you :)
