Election post
At any level of study, it's important (dare I say necessary) to counterbalance obligations in the classroom with your own hobbies and passions. Postgraduates especially need to carve out time for themselves, lest they fall victim to the countless hours they spend reading or in the lab. As Postgraduate Rep, I will work with the committee not only to accommodate postgrad writers in the Writers' Society, but also to allow postgraduates to seamlessly incorporate the society into our busy schedules.
Thus, my vision for the UCL Writers' Society involves direct contact between myself and the other postgraduate members. Having an ear to the ground is the foremost way to make desired change. Whether it be in the form of PG-only coffee socials or alternate writing sessions to accommodate those of us who can't make the regular ones, I see Writers' Soc as a place of respite for us to pursue this hobby, away from the stale air of the library. I would be honored and privileged to serve as your Postgraduate Representative, and I will do everything in my power to make Writers' Soc the ideal place for postgrad writers to nurture our creativity.
