Election post
I’m interested in becoming a first year representative for the UCL WIF society because I know how challenging it can be applying for finance roles as a woman, simply because there are so few women doing the same. Therefore I am eager to do everything I can to break down some of these barriers through getting involved with the society by reaching out to banks and actively finding and creating opportunities to help women break into finance.
I enjoy taking initiative as is hopefully reflected by my experiences, such as raising money for students in the Gambia, and planning events as a member of my head student committee in Sixth Form, all of which taught me how to organise, communicate, and work with others. I believe these transferable skills would be of great help when building vauable connections with sponsors and peers.
I really hope you consider me for this position as I am very passionate about women’s empowerment, and am committed to doing everything it takes to continue to grow and improve this society.
