The opportunity to join the UCL Women in Finance Society as a First-Year Representative is truly exciting for me because I believe women are often marginalised and need greater empowerment to pursue this field. Being one of only two girls in my economics classes and the only female editor of Cosmos Magazine (an economics and politics publication) in high school motivated me to challenge that imbalance and encourage more female voices in male-dominated fields.

As Deputy Executive Editor and Social Media manager of Cosmos Magazine, Media Strategist at the non-profit Good4Trust, and Outreach Coordinator on my school’s Sustainability Council, I strengthened my communication, content creation, and social media management skills. Remarkably, I boosted Good4Trust’s Instagram follower count by 13.6% in 6 months, achieving the broader goal of reaching a wider audience. Further on my school’s Sustainability Council, I built a collaboration program connecting younger and older students, encouraging dialogue, engagement, and mentorship.

I am eager to bring these experiences to WinF, especially in the Marketing, Relations, and Outreach divisions, to connect with members, promote activities such as the ‘Share the Vision’ conference, and unite more women to ensure finance remains an inclusive industry.
