Dima Ivankov

I’m standing for Social Secretary. I genuinely love talking to and connecting people. Most of the electorate already know me – I somehow end up chatting with anyone like we are already known to each other. I believe our society is, first and foremost, about communication — not around some subject, but actually around talking, laughter, and community itself. I see how much potential we have with our anecdotes, the energy, the easy conversations that make everyone feel at home. With the experience that I will get throughout the year with our already lovely committee, we will be able to organise new events and meetups . I want to bring direct and grounded service to our society, and honestly connecting with the members, collect feedback and ideas from our community. Our people in the city. Open, easy-going, but responsible when it matters. My goal is to make sure everyone feels connected, to keep the vibe warm and welcoming and fun, and to make our society not just active, but even more united. And to connect with other Ukrainian societies to synergise with them for the best events. And who knows — one of our servant of the people also started like this - so we will develop good networking.

Our People in the City! Our Candidate!

Oryna Nyzovets

I am standing for Social Secretary because I want to make ucl.ua feel like home, while we are thousands of kilometres away from our country. I will help build a space, where we can meet, relax, create something meaningful together or just take a break and enjoy the atmosphere. For many of us, being Ukrainian here isn’t just identity - it’s belonging.

I have strong experience organising events and bringing people together. As Head Student, I coordinated school-wide projects, charity concerts, interactive drop-in hubs, anti-bullying weeks, and fundraising fairs - including raising over £4,000 for Ukraine. I managed logistics, communications, and team coordination, and learned how to make events run smoothly while still keeping them fun.

At UCL, I want to bring our society closer together through memorable social events: cultural evenings, casual meet-ups, creative workshops, ukrainian music nights, collaborations with other societies, and ideas shaped by what you want.

My aim is to make every Ukrainian at ucl.ua to feel welcomed from the moment they join, and make every event worth coming to!
