Ksenia Grigorieva

I would love to be involved in the Skate Club committee this year so that I can contribute to its warm and close-knit community. Having attended a few of the skate socials, I felt very welcomed and I had a great time skating as well as chatting to the other members. By assisting the committee in sourcing and maintaining equipment, I would be able to provide more people with the opportunity to experience any method of skating, even if they don't own equipment themselves. I hope to ensure a more positive experience for members by keeping all equipment in check.

Ayden Wee

As someone who learned to skate at this club, I look forward to each weekly skate session. And I do not doubt that behind the fun of our weekly skates lies often monotonous but critical work—organising activities, administering the club and maintaining its equipment. After all, my background as a conscript in the support services of the Singapore Army makes me an ideal candidate for Equipment Officer. My goal is simple: to ensure that every piece of gear is well-maintained and accounted for so we can enjoy skating together.

Before joining UCL, I served as an Administrative Support Assistant in the Singapore Army. In that role, I designed a comprehensive Excel tracking system for managing and tracking an inventory of over 600 items, ensuring that every piece of equipment — to be used in the 2025 National Day Parade — was accounted for, functional, and ready for use. I then trained my colleagues in the use and maintenance of this system, before being moved to another department in which I set up a similar system to track the security passes of over 300 contractors assisting in the conduct of the parade. For these efforts,  analogous in so many ways to what is required of an equipment officer, I was honoured with the Div/Fmn ASA Award (2023) for excellence in organisation and reliability. And if elected, I would strive to bring these same standards of efficiency and reliability to my new role.

Vote Ayden for Equipment Officer — onward to victory! (Hopefully)
