Rock and Metal Society: Social Media Officer

Hey I'm Niall and I'm interested in the role because I love social media and graphic design, and this soc seems like a lovely community to do it for! I have graphic design and social media experience as the social media officer for Delilah Magazine, and I've done various music-related marketing things before. I'd say I write with a relatively informal/welcoming marketing tone, which is pretty well-suited to a uni soc like this one and I'm suddenly blanking on all the other reasons I want to run lol.

Oh yeah, I feel like I'd have good ideas to keep members engaged, I think it would be great to have a members' playlist on Spotify and I think we could use social media for more than just posting about events such as fun rock/metal trivia or opportunities for discussion/engagement!

My favourite rock and metal songs include:  New Way Out by Poppy, Drum Show by twenty one pilots, THE END by Bilmuri, Jaded by Spiritbox,  Loser by Julia Wolf, and Sort Yourself Out by Neck Deep. 

I think I have a pretty good knowledge of the main rock and metal scenes, but I'd love to know more and I'm always down for a chat about anything!

This would be the perfect opportunity to attract more people to the society and open them up to the wonderful world of rock and metal. Coordinating inter-soc collaborations would be a great chance to create connections with other people and introduce us as well as them to new experiences. In my free time, I enjoy all things art and design including sketching, painting, and collaging, so this would also be a chance for me to also showcase a bit of my artistic flare whilst helping the society to advertise its exciting events. I would love to help with making our social media image even more vibrant and a more powerful communicator of our interests and passions.
