I’m excited to apply for Gastroenterology & Hepatology Chair as it’s the perfect way to combine my passion for this specialty with supporting fellow students. Having served as Interim Chair this term, I’ve helped plan a teaching series, guest speaker series, and case-based discussions, while collaborating with nine universities to create a national GI conference. These experiences have shown me how much impact the society can have when it’s active and collaborative.

If elected, I want to build on this by expanding teaching for both pre-clinical and clinical students — from accessible FNM-focused sessions to interactive AKT and CPSA revision. I’d also love to strengthen our academic side with an essay competition marked by gastro consultants, and to run joint events with societies like General Surgery to reflect the breadth of the field.

My past roles as Ophthalmology Society Finance Officer, Surgical Society tutor, and organiser for cultural and academic groups have prepared me to lead effectively, balance responsibilities, and bring creative ideas to life. I’m passionate about making the society inclusive, engaging, and inspiring for all students interested in gastroenterology and hepatology.
